Entry #7. Fresh
There are so many thoughts running through my head after viewing this documentary film. I can not really probably form my thoughts, because of how shocked I was to find out the real tea about the industry. I can tell you one things is that my thoughts after this film are not positive. I personally thought of where my food is coming from, yes. Ironically I was vegan for 3 months at one point last year. I became vegan, because of a film on Netflix titled "Food,INC." After viewing that in my high school Environmental class, I made the change THAT DAY. I went as far as giving away my pack of gum to my friend because it contained bone mill from an animal. Food, INC is far more graphic that fresh. The film fresh triggered me just because it reminded me of Food, INC. What I think of the film is shocked and remorse for the animals. Also, guilt for eating animals and relapsing and not continuing to be vegan. The purpose of this form was to inform for sure. They show you graphic mistreatment of animals briefly in the beginning to grab audience attention. The targeted audience for this film in my opinion in just the general public. They want to portray this message to everyone, because everyone is consuming this meat and if they aren't consuming it they are purchasing it which is also contributing to the problem as well. I think this information when first showcased to the audience is shocking! of course! they were throwing baby chickens! but deep down everyone knows that the meat industry is horrible and they mistreat animals and fill our food with these horrible chemicals. It's almost a taboo where people don't want to think or talk about it. Honestly the part of this film that shocked me is the nice guy that invited all those people to his garden and had lunch. I also thought it was cool that he was willing to give out worms and just be so giving and genuine. This is was shocking for me, because a lot of farmers in the film seemed selfish and did not care about the health of the crops or animals. They just wanted money and that's all they were in it for. That guy though was in it to educate people and show them how they can organically farm and not harm animals or use harmful pestides. This film is really important in todays society, because I think that the farming is getting out of control. I think this problem is getting more dangerous and out of control than it has ever been. It's important, because it is going to be bringing the awareness that is needed to push these farmers to be better. For our health and the happiness of the animals.
